The aim of the Society is to promote research and to diffuse information about biological and no biological roles of cadmium present in the environment. Cadmium can interact with all sorts of living species up to human populations.
Research and knowledge of cadmium even in non-biological fields such as nutrition, botany, veterinary medicine, biochemistry and geology matters are thus of interest for the Society, with the aim of studying the interaction of all these elements in cadmium, and its relationship with the environment and health.
A major role of the Society is to promote exchange between members of the research community working on these questions. Particular attention is directed toward young scientists in an effort to advance their professional education.
Another important aim of the Society is to provide a balanced and curated information about the biological effects of cadmium for the benefit of the public.
For the above purposes, the Society maintains the present web site which should be a privileged forum for basic information about cadmium and for exchanges and discussions.
